MRK 1 Upper Assembly

The Towle AR MRK 1 Upper Assembly system is the soul of the rifle. The MRK 1 upper was designed to be one of the most functional, durable and reliable upper assemblies on the market. Designed around the USGI standard, with enhancements developed to provide a more robust, reliable, and accurate rifle system. These enhancements include a match grade barrel, an adjustable gas system and a free floating picatinny rail. For the Receiver, the aluminum alloy 7075 was chosen because it is as hard as many steels while retaining the lightweight qualities of aluminum. It is then hard coat anodized (MIL-A-8625F Type III Class 2) for superior wear protection. Note: Certain barrel lengths and twists are only available to specific calibers. MRK 1 Upper Assembly

The Towle AR MRK 1 Upper Assembly system is the soul of the rifle. The MRK 1 Upper was designed to be one of the most functional, durable and reliable upper assemblies on the market. Designed around the USGI standard, with enhancements developed to provide a more robust, reliable, and accurate rifle system. These enhancements include a match grade barrel, a gas piston system and a free floating picatinny rail. For the Receiver, the aluminum alloy 7075 was chosen because it is as hard as many steels while retaining the lightweight qualities of aluminum. It is then hard coat anodized (MIL-A-8625F Type III Class 2) for superior wear protection.

Upper Receiver:

• Both the upper and lower receivers are made from forged 7075 T6 aircraft grade aluminum.
• Precision machined to Mil-Spec standards.
• Type III Hard Anodize finish for durability.
• The majority of parts are further finished with a baked on Cerakote finish and the interior upper and Bolt Carrier are Micro Slick Dry Film treated.
• Includes an ambidextrous charging handle.

Barrel:

• The Barrel is a Match Grade.
• It is made of American-made 416R rifle rated stainless steel.
• It has a hand-polished bore and feedramps.
• The Fluted barrel reduces weight while increasing stiffness (not available on all models).

Adjustable Gas System:

• The system is a light weifht fully adjustable system.
• Gas pressure is adjustable allowing for different applications from single short training to suppressed fire.

Free Floating Handguard:

• Light weight and durable 6061 T6 Aluminum.
• Accessory picatinny rails can be added or removed at any of 7 positions around the rail and any place along the length of the tube.
• Forms a continuous top rail.
